Mereneth Lynes is the current duchess of Stillvault and its surrounding territories and widow of the late Morlen Lynes, duke of the same lands. She is rarely seen in public or outside of the city's castle. Despite this, she is relatively popular among her people, even more so following the murder of her husband, garnering her significant sympathy in recent days.
The duchess is known to be a competent mage of sorts and has been described using various magics. As one of the few Elves in a position such as hers, she can claim to be one of the oldest living people among the higher nobility of Faryon.

Personal history

Born over four centuries ago to a noble family from Stillvault, Mereneth is one of the oldest living rulers in Faryon. Awfully little is known of the woman's past these days, but she was married to Morlen Lynes, then heir to Stillvault.
While not the most prominent figure, she has since then governed over Stillvault with her husband, and in his absence when the situation demanded it, with a fair hand. She appears to not have taken kindly towards the death of Morlen, and on the very same day several officials from Nylanor and Ludwig's court were removed from Stillvault's own court.

Contacts & Relations

Known to be on favorable terms with the Adyrian Trading Company and its governor in particular.
By contrast, she appears to have a far less favorable disposition towards the rule of Ludwig III, Nylanor, and Faryon's monarchs in general and has only rarely been seen at the royal court.

Wealth & Financial state

Like Stillvault and its surrounding lands themselves, the ruling family is not particularly wealthy, and certainly not by comparison to other nobility from elsewhere. Still, the Lynes posses significant wealth in the form of assets and favors - they are well-liked by their people and do not have to expect to pay for many things they might require from their people, without the threat of violence.
