Rivals Life became complicated when her father left the vault, which no one had ever done. Woken by Amata, she was told the only other person she gave a shit about was killed and given a pistol... realizing that she may have to use it, she assured Amata she would do her best to not. Avoiding conflict with a guard she met up with Stanely and Andy as well as Officer Gomez, who was the only security she could trust, he told her that he saw Amata get grabbed when she went a different route.
after seeing two people get gunned down by security she drew and fired, thankfully her fire was enough to put the guards into their hiding spots while she slid though the open to get to amanda who was locked up in a maintenance room, after getting her out they contimued, harrassed for something they didnt cause, and then attacked, Rival slammed the guard against wall and then used his baton to incapacitate the other. She told the overseer she was leaving and she didn't need his help and that if he knew what was good he'd leave his daughter alone. During their escape they found a not from their dad on Jonas' body, it was her father's last goodbye but wth what happened she wasn't gonna let that stand, she needed answers. grabbing more ammo and supplies they hacked into the overseer's terminal where they learned of Megaton, and that the vault had sent scouts which contradicted what they had been told since kids.running through the tunnels they escapped, but Amata stayed, for the sake of the vault. Tragedy struck them... and baseball bats. as they got whacked outside the vault and amanda taken captive by slavers... Rival was now alone in a hostile world

History
Having met Rival when the McKenna's found themsleves in DC for the first time, they had mixed opinions of eachother, one a dismissive militant bitch, the other a reckless kid in over their heads. this shifted slightly when Rival fought hard against the mutants and then Sarah begrudgingly began to respect the kid when she hit a Behemoth with a mini nuke and then continued to engage while her older sister cowered.
Rival and Sarah didnt see eachother until a half dead Rival, Markus, Barca, Amanda, and a bunch of scientists rocked up at the Citadel after the enclave takeover. Having just become an orphan, Rival was showing immense strength of will, and a clear enough head to pull the Mutant and the Mutant hater from tearing a hole in eachother. This trust in the E-FEV "freak" rubbed off. While tending to her wounds, Rival got to know Sarah more, who thanked her for her help in the fight against the behemoth, and said she respects what she did to save those people.
Fighting together in the Battle For The Purfier, They became battle forged friends, both being hit hard by the reactor. Rival, having being left by Amanda, spent hours talking to a comatose Sarah, talking about her grief, and how she never was afforded time to do so. How she was thankful they both survived, how the world made her angry, how she wanted to lash out at it, like she used to do when the jerks at the vault would do to her and her sister, but she always got akind talking to from her dad who said it was always fine if she directed it at the problem not anyone else.
When she airlifted Rival from the Crawler, where both thought themselves saying goodbye to Barca forever, they saw each other as best friends, both now had a grief to share.
After Barca came back, changed, Sarah's father passed and Rival was there for her, giving her council and helped on the hard days just by being an understanding shoulder. But as Rival grew more disillusioned with the work she had been doing, tired of the bloodshed, they parted ways as friends, Sarah never even asking where she was going.
