The Forbidden and Dark Arts

There are some forms of magic that descend past the limits of decency and delve deep into malevolent immorality. These practices are illegal in many civilizations and frowned upon in communities, possibly even feared.
Magic is everywhere within the realm and takes up many many different forms. But some forms of spell and magical affliction descend past notions of morality, and instead harbor cruel and malevolent intent for either those whom inflict it or those who have been inflicted. Ancient knights from the forgotten kingdom of Scirocco faced necromancers hidden in cabals throughout Astana. Innumerable innocent victims became lost in Eren's cursed forest the Vale, never to return and driven mad as their body horrifically mutated into an amalgam of both plant and flesh. Werewolves lose themselves to their feral inhibitions under the cover of the full moon, laying waste to innocent lives under the cloak of darkness. These are not the magic facets of normal lives or people. These are the horrors and feared frights that plague the rest of the world, as well as those engulfed within their dark fathoms.
