Rotting Ravens
A rotting raven was once a typical raven that died and was resurrected by someone with necro arcana. They are powerful creatures and loyal to the one who resurrects them, going as far as to defend their resurrector from any and all harm.
Basic Information
Anatomy
While they appear mostly like their typical raven counterpart, a rotting raven can have damaged flesh showing bones or worms crawling throughout them. Some rotting ravens are missing an eye or both. Even without their eyesight, they can still still prove to be deadly.
Genetics and Reproduction
These decaying avians can only reproduce one way — biting and tearing into the flesh of another living, healthy raven. The transformation takes the similar 24-hour waiting period before the raven succumbs to the infection, dies, and then comes back as a rotting raven.
Dietary Needs and Habits
A rotting raven lives off of eating the flesh of living ravens. They need nothing else to survive.
Biological Cycle
Rotting ravens are good in any weather, but the colder the temperature, the better. The ravens were first creating in Helheim, Realm of the Damned, by Hella, goddess of Death.
Behaviour
Rotting ravens are known for their elusive behavior. They may show great intelligence, but they avoid people due to their unnatural appearance, knowing that they will be hunted. When they gather in large numbers, they are near impossible to control and can cause a serious migrain for those attempting to wrangle them in.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Both Hella and Azalea Hanabira use the rotting ravens as messangers and scouts when entering unfamiliar territory. They can also act as thieves to get otherwise unattainable items.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
A rotting raven has above average intelligence and can easily detect people they know or have had described to them. They can also understand human speech and retrieve items from people or locations difficult terrain.
