Pyra Protectors Organization in The Virgo Cluster | World Anvil

Pyra Protectors

Structure

The organization is based on the 4 main stations present in the belt. Each has a quadrant to patrol. There are two main types of ships, safety/medical transports and armed revenue cutters. Each ship has an officer and appropriate crew. Each quadrant is broken into the Alpha and Bravo sides, each with 3 med transports and 7 cutters organized into 2 divisions. Each division is commanded by a Commodore. Each station, which includes the 2 ships divisions plus logistics, maintenance, and other headquarters activities along with law enforcement within the station itself, is commanded by an Admiral. Each one provides services for their sector and report to the governmental council.

Culture

The Protectors are peaceful and crew and other employees are carefully screened to help ensure that "cowboys" or "enforcers" are weeded out. They are truly benevolent and almost consider their job a calling. They serve the government council and are proud of their service. Many are long term protectors and become very familiar with many of the rocks in their sector, sometimes even helping belters if they happened to come across an interesting scan or other occurence.

Public Agenda

Pyra's Protectors are the safety and law enforcement arm of the Pyran government. They provide search and rescue and safety operations along with law enforcement consisting mainly of taxation and prevention of harm to belters. While the safety aspect applies to anyone (safety in space), depending on the circumstances the principals may be billed or charged for services. Those who have registered and pay the appropriate taxes may have reduced or negated charges and can provide adjudication for disuputes.

Assets

There are a total of 24 medical transports and 56 revenue cutters along with weapons, armor, vacc suits, office space, and maintenance facilities. They are by far the largest organization within the Pyran government.
