Justicars
Justicars are the militant right arm of the Church, they travel across the world bringing Dawn's judgement. All justicars are orimancers trained at Spire, capital of Godhead Cape and the Church's seat of power. They are learned in the way of orimancy, the sword, diplomacy, and theology, each a priest of Dawn in their own right. They see their mission to judge the people as an act of love for the people and serve as jury and executioner for those they deem deserving. The children of Dawn go astray, "abominations" try to hide within polite society, the justicars set things right, according to their belief and with a swift hand.
Perception of Justicars
In their home nation of Godhead Cape, justicars are seen as akin to angels sent by Dawn, they are revered and honored wherever they go, by most people. If a justicar is in town then miracles are certain to be abound and those who deal in the dark best be wary. Capen couples pray to give birth to an orimancer so they may grow up and serve the order, for some it is required they do so, in accordance to agreements made with the Church.
For the people of the Luorran Kingdom, justicars are viewed much differently. There are a few devout who honor them but the Kingdom is far more secular than the Cape and therefore most people don't give them the same reverence. The common folk view them the same as local law enforcement and nobles, people to avoid at any cost, where the nobility see them as nuances. The royal family sees the justicars as a means to an end, a deal made with the Church to ensure their prosperity.
The only species that is relatively safe in the presence of a justicar is humans. Dhampyr are tolerated in the Kingdom but most steer clear of justicars anyway for a justicar will not hesitate to kill a dhampyr and claim that "it" went feral if it served their purposes.
Public Agenda
Exorcise the evil from the Veil, starting from within. Changelings, Lycans, Vampyr, and Dhampyr are all seen as abominations according to the teachings of the Church and therefore they must be removed if Humans ever want to ascend to their rightful places as heirs to the throne of Dawn. They are a zealous order believing that they act with the most important form of love, tough love.
