Session 5: The Fate of the Star Forge Report

General Summary

The PCs exited Cantina 17 and met up with Grace and Anna. They recapped Grace and Anna enroute to the Rose of Jericho. At the Burner, they investigated the Burner and found scratch marks beneath the ship and in the skids. Anna investigated the terminal records and couldn't find evidence of software tampering. There was a record of the ship's preflight log finding the They found evidence of the corrosive acid along some of the scratches and cut marks, which Kyra sampled and studied. They did see the method of repairing the heat shields on the Burners in the repair yard (as heat shields burn out every couple of runs). They received the footage of Newton enroute to the Life Support Room. They headed that way and detained them at the prompting of the PCs. They came to Newton's apartment and interrogated him. Anna got a scanner and modified it, then used that to detect the wrist smuggling compartment and the Seed of Ydrissil in the smuggler's shoes. They, Warren leading the charge, tricked him into revealing how he got it and what he'd done with it in exchange for putting in a word with FreeST to spare his life. He, Harland, and the boy were all brought to the interrogation room. Warren used his mental hypnosis-like powers to interrogate Harland and eventually force the souls to return to their original bodies, though at a great mental cost to himself. They traveled on to the Life Support Room where they found the evidence of the cut wires, the dissolved grate, and the ventilation shafts. They split up with Jason and Dash heading into the Vents while Kyra and Anna tracked them on the Map. Warren accidentally shut off the fan array in the section which caused the heat to start to rise and a major problem to begin with the heating system, but Kyra repaired it. Anna secretly severed his terminal's connection from the network. Jason and Dash made their way up the vertical shafts until they were over the Hanger 9 breach. They traveled on until they saw a Skittering Horror, found the Room of Orgenous, and fled while fighting off a couple of horrors towards the vent. The Life Support Room team realized that the heat control room was showing a major alert and the station's temperature was rising drastically as the coms went crazy. Apparently the station is infested and under siege from these creatures and the fight for survival has just begun.
