Sesion 4: I smell a rat. A Wererat!

General Summary

The party comes face-to-face with a wererat. Things immediately started off on a bad footing. The wererat attacked Tortleighni with a savage bite and a swipe of his shortsword. As the battle continued, it became obvious that while Immriel and Tortleighni's magics were harming the creature, attacks from the rest of the group's weapons were doing no lasting harm. The wererat focused its attacks on the two spellcasters, at one point, overcoming Immriel and leaving him at risk of bleeding to death. Only Tortleighni's channeling of the celestial energies that grant her her powers brought him back into the fray.   In the course of the melee, Roland was also bitten by the wererat.   As the group's two magic users attempted to hold of the creature as it tried to lay them low, Lassecanta remembered that the rats serving the monster had been dragging daggers to the center of the murky pool that the wererat stood in.   She scooped up one of the daggers, and even as it came out of the water, it was clear something was special about this weapon. The water sloughed off of it, like it had never been submerged, even on the hilt, which was wrapped in cloth for greater grip. The blade seemed to catch and reflect the light of the torches the party were using.   The party moved it, passing the enchanted dagger from person to person, attacking the wererat from all sides, keeping it off balance and dealing it grievous wounds. When it eventually fell, the group quickly decided to keep it alive and interrogate it.   As they did so, it became clear that while Tortleighni had resisted the effects of the lycanthrope's bite, Roland was not so lucky. His wound was infected, and come the next full moon, he would find himself changing into a wererat.   They extracted from the wererat (now in human form, and who gave them the name Corwin) that he was part of a group that he referred to as "The Collective." They could not learn much about this mysterious organization, and so handed Corwin over to Lady Cordelia Beritan at The Wandering Candle and visited a church of Borgas where a cleric was able to remove the lycanthropic curse from Roland.   Laseccanta was told by Lady Beritan that she could keep the Dagger of Gleaming and that Lady Beritan would smooth it out with the weapon's original owners and with @Gr
