Nergian

The Nergians are a terrifying human like species of nocturnal creatures with black red eyes and long wide mouths of sharp teeth who screech in the night and drain your blood. Some humans have compared them to ancient human mysticism about vampires, but what are vampires anyway? Those stupid humans!   Initially found by the Rada Collective, the Nergians were quickly to mix and join the galactic community, mostly as bodyguards and mercenaries to spread the night to the underworld, however they are also spotted in para-militaries, faction armies or otherwise in combative or blood letting places like underground fighting tournaments or other dark places, they join gangs and crime groups or simple become murderers, garnering them a dark reputation slowly but surely.   While the Nergians can be perfectly nice people as well, their dark tendencies tend to get the better of them and often staring one down can make one soon feel like being in a room with an animal, rather than a person.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Much like humans, Nergians are fully humanoid creatures with even the same pinkish skin color as the caucasian variant, although Nergians do not share the other skin color options, rather they have a pale white skin in addition to the caucasian pinkish texture. They have deep black eyes with red irises and wide sharp toothed mouths, capable of swallowing an entire human infant in one bite, as each member of the race can dislocate their jaw easily to swallow larger prey. Their skeletal structure is similar to humans, although they have wing bones in their backs and lack the tail bone of humans, but similarily share that sort of 'left by evolution' bones.

Genetics and Reproduction

Nergians couple in orgies naturally but can choose not to do that, in these orgies, nergians copulate with as many instances of each other as possible in one go. The gestation period takes seven weeks, in which time at least six nergians will form in the mothers womb and burst out in a bloody display, almost always killing the mother and spawning six or more horrid nerglings which then consume the mothers remains and become independent, in the case the mother survives, she is still often consumed by the spawn, however exceptions exist where instead the independent Nerglings will take care and call for help for the mother, though this is rare.   Obviously, no sentient person would kill themselves by willingly joining these orgies, however sadly copulation is not exactly a choice for Nergians, for during certain times of the year after they are a certain age, they will be taken over by a compulsion to mate. Growth Rate & Stages

Nergians mature at the rate of humans, having long lives but especially old individuals become disfigured and crook-backed, before they eventually collapse into dust at the end of their lives.

Ecology and Habitats

The Nergians bore a natural dislike for light, even if it has no negative biological merits to them, they prefer dark and usually damp environments with some heights involved, this has people finding them in churches, sewers, canals and other dark environments where they can perch and stare at people with their glowing eyes, possibly screech at them, too! They hunt in the darkness for prey.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Nergians consume blood to survive, in this manner they do not need to consume food or water as long as they have blood, if they do not have blood available to them for some reason, they can persist on other foods, however these do not provide the sufficient nutrients to their bodies and are a placebo for living.

Average Intelligence

Nergians aren't peak human intelligence necessarily, but they belong in the same thought level and group, being fully sentient overall and some individuals being much smarter than the average human, on the average however the barbaric Nergians don't much care for smarts, they care for blood and their own desires, this does not much lend itself to academic advancement.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Capable of intense night vision, the Nergians can take long walks at night with no fear and have a good sense of smell, smelling blood from even a mile away, kind of a like a shark. They also have an accute sense of taste for blood, able to taste blood from just a little bit of it being on their tongue. They have good hearing as well, but not as pronounced as the rest.

The Nergians are like tanks, in that they do not require body armor like most other species in the galaxy, as they can absorb even high calibre arms fire with little actual danger to their bodies, as they are excessively resilient. They are strong as well, but nothing in comparison to their insane durability and body defenses. They can be agile as well, although usually not too much.

You add your Constitution modifier, instead of your Strength modifier, to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with this bite. It deals 1d4 piercing damage on a hit. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. When you attack with this bite and hit a creature that isn’t a Construct or an Undead, you can empower yourself in one of the following ways of your choice: You regain hit points equal to the piercing damage dealt by the bite. You gain a bonus to the next ability check or attack roll you make; the bonus equals the piercing damage dealt by the bite. You can empower yourself with this bite a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest   Languages You know Nege and galactic common.
