Cult of the Great Worm
The Cult of the Great Worm was established soon after the creation of the Rada Collective, worshipping the Great Worm that every Rada could feel the presence of in their minds. No one had ever seen this creature but everyone could sense it, and some could hear its words. These words established the fact that the presence in everyone's heads was indeed a worm of some kind, a great devourer that existed somewhere very far away.
The cult would do rituals and interrept the meanings of the faint words they could hear, trying to convince the Rada Collective to follow their fathers will and lead the Rada people in the right direction, however due to the uncertainty in their words and the obscure nature of the great worm, the rada society did not as a whole follow the will of the cult, causing them to be a rather obscure part of the entire Collective, though still held as the official religion of the race and its followers were many.
They have taken a much more direct role now that their god is physically near them, and indeed, most old followers of the cult are now members of the fleet that follows the great worm, each day is spent revering the great worm and hearing his words, very clearly now and enacting his will as well as letting the rest of the Rada know the actions, intentions and words of their parent.
Lately, they guard and receive the command of the Great Worms Avatar, being their personal guard and envoy to all places it wishes to go.
Structure
High Master
From its inception, the cults head has always been Avik Avish, and continues to do so to present day, although this rank provides for anyone taking the reigns in the event of his demise.
Master of Rituals
The one communing with the Great Worm more directly over great distance and interrepting the words of his will.
Ascended Ritualist
More than a neophyte, these truly faithful Rada take care of train new Neophytes in the great worms messages and words, and helping to better attune their senses to the Great Worms voice and presence.
Neophyte
Either you have not spend enough time in the Cult, or you don't like responsibility too much, neophytes are the backbone of the Cult and spread the great worms message close and far. Their mission is to make sure that everyone know Igsims word, and that its word is good. To prevent unneccessary fears or aggression, to bring peace.
Culture
The members of the Cult of the Great Worm, aside from Avik Avish are usually much more friendlier and gentler than the rest of the savage Collective, although this is only in comparison, they still seem like neutral or friendly warrior priests to most other galactic races, but to them they are soft and gentle.
It is in their belief that their god truly wishes peace and that they should foster it and that it is up to them to show others that they are not the danger that Bashi wishes them to be seen as, instead, they are merely the children of the one who brings peace with him wherever he goes.
It is obvious for the worshippers of the cult to treat others like you yourself wish to be treated and to foster care and love in one's community, even if that community isn't all Rada. Diversity is to be celebrated, however to try to invoke violence for its own sake, or trying to disrupt or abuse diversity to ones advantage, is to cause harm, and causing harm means heavy orbital weapons will soon take care of you.
Public Agenda
The Cult of the Great Worm wishes to bring peace and prosperity to the Galaxy, the Collective, the Factions, big or small. And to eradicate those who would wish to stop that or deny it.
Assets
Much like many Rada organizations, the Cult's assets are supplied by the central government and are in possesion of ships and equipment to a sizeable degree, although they are not considered part of the military or its spendings, they are a self sufficient organization within the Rada.
They hold many Temples across Rada space, and even one in the Neutral Planet.
History
In the beginning, the Rada gained sentience in a forced species genocide event, forced into existence by Bashi, Avik Avish was cold and alone, in some alleyway, which he quickly realized was his host trying to escape the takeover, only to realize too late that he was infected too. Shocked, Avik was taken by despair as he was unsure what to do with his life, or if he should live at all... However before madness or sorrow could take him, he heard a gentle voice, very far away in his mind... He listened, and he heard.
"This is not the way my child, we must be better. Do better."
These simple words within him caused a religious awakening in Avik, whose host had held no lords, but from that moment onward Avik, saved by the great worms soothing voice, dedicated himself to serving it, and soon finding many other rada who also heard something, though only he had heard clear sentences. From this day onward the Cult of the Great Worm would raise as more dialogue was shared to Avik.
From there on the Cult would serve loyally to the Rada Collective, before finally being granted their lord by Bashi, ironically enough their greatest enemy politically and the despoker of their faith, ended up being their messiah. Yet still, as the Great Worm condemned Bashi, so did the Cult, as they instantly started following Igsim and hearing his words. They will never stop doing this, is assumed.
Demography and Population
99% Rada
Military
Every cultist is capable of waging war, and everyone is equipped with their personal 'holy' weaponry. You cannot aid the Great Worms cause if you are unarmed.
Foreign Relations
Due to their blind focus to the service of the great Worm, the other races and factions do not actually usually even see them, although they try to be friendly to anyone they do come across.
Divine Origins
It all started by Avik Avish, a newborn Rada, having a religious awakening due to hearing the words of the Great Worm, all rituals, beliefs and teachings of the religion are pieces of dialogue shared by Avik and the Great Worm, and now generally taught by the Great Worm itself.
Cosmological Views
The Cult refers to Science for the beginning of the Universe, however they believe that Igsim is a special form of life, far beyond their own who single handedly created them and gives them both purpose and support.. What else could it be, but a god?
Tenets of Faith
You should treat others as you wish yourself to be treated. Attacking others unprovoked is selfish and arrogant, arrogance is the beginning of ones downfall. The strong exist to protect the weak, and it is the right of the strong to protect others and not display their strength unneccessarily. The world is not infinite, so shield, foster and heal your surroundings. If you have excess, give to those who have none. If someone threatens you or those who you hold dear, destroy the opposition without a speck left on this universe.
It is of course mandated that you hold the Great Worm at the highest degree of respect and obey its every word, these rules persist even if the God itself has said that is far too generous and shouldn't be treated like that.
Worship
The worship of Igsim is quite simple, giving the monstrous creature food, praising it, hearing its words and enacting the acts of goodness it desires are several of the many more rituals, worship and events that can occur in the Cult of the Great Worm. Meditation moments when fellow of the members call out to Igsim are regular day activites, followed usually by a small pilgrim to go help out other people.
Priesthood
The master of rituals usually picks out those who have proved themselves in their faith and religion, and thus hold an ascension, when a neophyte becomes more, these ascended ritualists then can one day become a master of rituals, or even the high master.
All of these ranks will wear more ceremonial gear during sermons and held events than the standard neophyte, though this is mostly done to tell each other apart.
Granted Divine Powers
The Great worm Igsim and its children are capable of granting their flesh to their followers, which is excessively powerful primordial DNA, normal Rada being granted this are always fated to become more powerful. The Cult's members are also more pronounced in their psionic capabilities due to their proximity to the Great Worm, himself.
Political Influence & Intrigue
While initially pretty much Ignored by the Rada whole, this tune has changed greatly ever since the arrival of the very real Great Worm. The cult is flooded with members and they are capable of turning heads on the political table. While they do not hold the ear of the King any more than anyone else in the community, who can tell what the future holds.
Sects
Cult of Ydralam, the Nest of Pestilence:
This sect of the Cult of the Greatworm has given up Igsim entirely, instead opting to worship the more vicious child of the Great worm, very aptly named the Nest of Pestilence. Much like Bashi's rada, Ydralam too has pretty much opposite views on things than its parent.
