The Universal Defensionis Imperium (UDI) is the largest and most powerful organization within the civilized Universe. It stretches across the ten galaxies known as the Decem Cluster and has established its domain against a massive assortment of enemies. The UDI is the sole civilized power capable of holding the forces of Chaos and the other countless enemies of the Universe at bay. For the VM years of its existence, the UDI has been a beacon of hope and progress under the wise leadership of the Ascendency, its commanding body.
Structure
(1) The highest role in the Imperial Hierarchy is the position of the Supreme Imperator. This officer is charged with spearheading the basic doctrine of all Imperial affairs including military action, political protocols, Imperial Legislation, economy, and social protocol. This officer is the de facto leader of the entire Universal Defensionis Imperium.
(2) The Deputy Imperator is the direct second to the Supreme Imperator, acting as an assistant and virtually as the chief of staff of the Ascendency. Though by all means its most important role is to act as the Supreme Imperators Will incarnate.
(3) The Prince/Princess Imperator is the child of the Supreme Imperator and those not have any official authority. Its main role is to act as an extension of the Supreme Imperator, extending his will into the less essential manners of the Imperium.
(4) The Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes is essentially a bodyguard to the Supreme Imperator but is also usually one of the Supreme Imperators' most trusted advisors. This officer is an expert in the art of battle and is usually trained by the Supreme Imperator himself. In matters of the military, the Adeptus Custodes, as well as its leader, are seen with a unique respect for where they are, so is the Supreme Imperator.
(5) The Lord Commander Militant is the head of the Astra Militarum, the UDI's main military subordinate. His duty is to ensure the constant condition of the military and oversees the preparation of the armies for military action and intense strategic planning. This officer usually advises the Supreme Imperator as to military decisions
(6) The High Admiral is the head of the Imperial Navy, the UDI's man Astra-Maritime subordinate. His duty is to ensure the constant condition of the navy and oversees the preparation of the fleets for naval action and intense strategic planning. This officer usually advises the Supreme Imperator as to naval decisions.
(7) The Fabricator-General of the Adeptus Mechanicus is responsible for the direction of research and development and the manufacturing of military and public equipment.

The foremost goal for the UDI is to ensure a peaceful society where citizens can advance and grow in a stable environment of logic, science, and understanding.

The UDI counts on all of the resources of the civilized Universe as a means of supporting its massive society and even larger military ambitions.
History
The Universal Defensionis Imperium is a direct successor to the earlier Universal Defense Federation (UDF). After the UDF was disbanded in the beginning years of the Age of Strife, the UDI rose from the ashes of its precursor and destroyed the oppressive First Galactic Empire establishing itself has the main galactic superpower. For the next 6000 years, the UDI would lead crusades into the far reaches of space ultimately conquering nine other galaxies. Since then it has continued advancing itself and unifying the peace-loving creatures of all creation.
Demography and Population
The UDI stretches across nine galaxies. Each of these galaxies is divided into four realms. Each realm holds six sectors. Due to the sheer vastness of the Imperial territory, it is impossible to calculate the entire population.

The Imperial territory consists of ten galaxies that have been assimilated into the Imperium over 6000 years.
Military
The central military force of the UDI is the Astra Militarum. Though the total armed forces of the Imperium go beyond this, the Astra Militarum is seen as the de facto state military.
Technological Level
The Imperium has the most advanced domestic technologies available to all of its citizens allowing the citizenry to focus on there own mental and physical advancement and the upholding of domestic occupations. The military holds with itself an immensely advanced arsenal that allows it to hold back enemy incursions with relative ease. Warfare itself is not made easy but the technology provided allows every known advantage in order to ensure casualty efficient operation.
Religion
All religions are tolerated and accepted as a right of the citizenry but the main state recommended religion is Christianity. No religion holds any power within the government in order to ensure an unbiased organization.
Foreign Relations
Foreign relations are approached by the Ascendency as a whole, ensuring proactive coexistence with other parties.
Agriculture & Industry
Main agriculture and industry are to the discretion of planetary and system governments but each of these states must pay a percentage to the Imperial Government.
Trade & Transport
Trade and transport is dependent on public commercial fleets that traverse a complex web of trade routes that span over the entire territory.
Education
Education is seen as a civil right and is provided free to all citizens, including secondary and higher education.
Infrastructure
Most of the Imperial infrastructure with an exception in the Inner Universal Core is exclusive to the planet in order to ensure the prosperity of all needs.
