Dune
Perhaps the very first planet the Aegans colonized when their society had first gained the means to travel into space. Their start was a difficult one here, with a lot of trial and error. The very first colony was immortalized into a museum once other, more advanced and stable colonies were founded.
FRIST colonized celestial body, now sparsely populated (everyone moved out :P )-- like our shared idea of salt and your pitch of obsidian, so im thinking... Everyone moved out because they couldnt kick it, hence the move to the moon (all that effort for what man??) and the russians and the generic american old western type cowboys stayed, reverence was held over Dune because y'know, baby's first steps outside- in tribute, they all went back to retro tech (and add in the stereotypical cowpokes are afraid of tech) any tech surpassing a specific era was banned on Dune (except for rare circumstance-- inspo, see Futurama's episode with the amish planet, they still have the means on Dune to travel to other planets the just keep in aesthetic/cosplay)
anyhow entirely salt on the surface, dunes are salt, saltstorms, etc-- giantass crater from one of the moons impacting it, crater is entirely obsidian-- russians and cowboys export the salt-- wild west shenanigans, mental image train barrling thru salt dunes, cowboy chasing after it, shooting other guy trying to haul bags of sand off the train-- salt ranches maybe with creatures genespliced and adapted to the salt, idk

Geography
Rocky, with canyons, volcanoes, dry lake beds and craters all over it. Red dust covers most of its surface.
Climate
Dune has clouds and wind just like Meylara. Sometimes the wind blows the red dust into a dust storm. Tiny dust storms can look like tornados, and large ones can be seen from Meylara. Dune's larger storms sometimes cover the entire planet.
