The Kathrine Johnson Space station.

A space station built by the Abydos federation to train students (aged 13-20) for space-faring and other such jobs. It was well prepped and build, but mysteriously, all most all the people dissapeared on 13-4. It still orbits planet S2-23.

Purpose / Function

To teach and house students all year round. Built to train people on aerospace, piloting, biology, and other skills. It was well supplied with food, materials, and other such things to house and care for the staff and students. It fulfilled its purpose until the end. It was built with around 200 rooms to have 5 students in each, 8 bathrooms, and 30 teachers and classrooms. There were 2 cafeterias and 3 main living spaces.

Alterations

The housing was only made to house about 1000 students and about 30 teachers, however, the expanding population of Abydos federation grew, they got more students. They started accommodation by building new housing quarters for the teachers and students, but soon, they hired fewer teachers, stopping around 45, they still got new students though. In the modern version of the space station, 5000 students were packed into barrack-like rooms, both the old housing accommodations and new ones were pack with 10-25 students.  For some reason, the number of bathrooms only increased once, so there are 9 bathrooms. They also added a fourth cafeteria.

Architecture

Built more in practically than anything else, built of metal and smooth white walls. Some walls have murals that make it seem like the place is a little more alive. It has wide-open rooms with tall ceilings and large arches it's lights are a little too bright.
The best room in the house is cafeteria 1, the room is in an outcrop of the station, and it is built with windows on 3 of the 4 walls, letting the view of the vastness of space come into view. It also allows the planet to be in view for most of the time, giving it a serene atmosphere.

History

Founded by Areana tray, named after her favorite historical character in space science, Kathrine Johnson. It sered as a school it's entire time.
