Alejandro Coul Itzcua (a.k.a. Alex)
A short, frightened young man, studied engineering in the engineering department, he appeared with the 23 survivors 6 days after everyone had disappeared, with no knowledge that other people, including himself disappeared.
His last name is an Aztec name meaning obsidian serpent.
Physical Description
He is on the round side, but not large, with long arms that just swing along feebly at his side. He's agile, but not very strong. He is covered head to toe in marks, whether it be scars, freckles, moles, birthmarks, or something else.
He is quite long and lanky, scars cover his knees and calves from falling when he was younger. His arms might be a little too long for his body, which make him a target for reaching things for short people. He's tall too, making hims look a little odd. His legs are a little hunched and muscular.
He is very freckled and has squinty, almond eyes. His eyes are an incredibly dark blue, in fact they look basically black. His bangs are a little over his eyebrows and are choppily cut. His freckles are faint and cover the entirety in his face, you cannot tell these freckles apart from pimples and he hates both of them.
His long-lanky figure is easily noticeable, and his eyes dark blue are surprising, and easily noticeable if you are looking at his face.
He usually stands at an odd lopsided posture, like he isn't quite comfortable with how tall he is.
He normally wears baggy and dark clothing, it's mainly to draw attention away from himself. His shoes choice are simple tennis shoes that are ratty and old. In fact, many of his clothes seem old, like he hadn't gotten new clothes for himself in quite a long time.
Mental characteristics
His parents worked as rich trade workers in the planet G-H,He,N-23, but he and his four siblings were raised on planet E6-4, raised by their parents and various caretakers. These caretakers mostly took care of him and his siblings and weren't very good, so Alex cared for his younger siblings. He knows how to cook, sew, play most sports, wash bathrooms, sinks, dishes, and clothes, care for babies, and fix cars. He isn't good at all the skills he knows, but he grew a fondness for mechanics, he worked hard in school, although he never did well. He wanted to go to school in the Katherine Johnson Space Station, and his parents were more than happy to pay to get one kid out of his way.
He was educated in the public education of the country of Ucros, which is one of the better education systems in the surrounding solar systems he didn't do very well in school, mainly because he always prioritized his siblings over his education. Still, he got into the Katherine Johnson Space Station schooling system and is doing much better there.
He has managed to almost single handedly raise his siblings, which is an... accomplishment.
He his currently valedictorian of the mechanics department of school.
He didn't do very well in school before, and the failure forever haunts him.
He constantly takes responsibility for everything, not understanding that he isn't responsible for the actions of other people. He is a little controlling and paranoid, and believes he must take care of everyone, regardless if they need it. People can think he's just a caring person, but that has been increased by years of having to be the responsible person.
He has a good memory and math skills. He can do many Equations in his head and handle longer those equations, he mostly uses this skill for cooking and baking, as he doesn't think he can use it for anything else.
Personality Characteristics
He has the general motivations of a student. Get good grades and get a good job in your field of study. He feels a little immobilized by the events of the disappearance and ends up setting smaller goals for himself with the hope of fixing this problem.
He's a jack-of-all-trades. Although he is skilled in his course of study the most. He can figure out how to do almost anything, picking up on new skills lighting fast. He never gets really good at these new skills and his tendency to freeze at the first sight of failure makes it hard for him to work on them.
He doesn't fight very well or handles any conflict very well. There is a reason he never spoke up against his parents leaving him to deal with his siblings. In the simplest sense, in the fight, flight, or freeze scenario, he freezes. Unable to do much except watch whatever is to take place.

History
Ruby just assumed Alex was someone whose parents paid their way and didn't deserve to be there. Alex does in fact deserve to be there, Ruby just doesn't notice it and judges him, she doesn't hide her dislike, and seems bothered by the fact he doesn't care. Her assumptions are wrong, and she will need to learn from them.
Alex thinks Ruby is cool. He thinks her hard working and critical thinking skills are cool, and he looks up to her a bit. He knows she doesn't like him, but he thinks she can learn to like him (he's right) and treats her well anyway. He also really wants to work on an aerospace engineering project with her, mainly because he thinks it would be fun to get to know how she work. Alex's amazement with Ruby can seem a little bit creepy.
