The Dread Emporer in Emon

Pretty much the first thing that Vox Machina hears about when arriving in Emon for the first time is that children are going missing. They are seen talking to a child with black hair and golden eyes before they disappear.
Vox then does some other stuff for a while, but sees the golden eyed boy during the replacement Winter's Crest festival (assumingly not on the actual day of Winter's Crest ), talking to Uriel Tal'Dorei's son.
They follow the boys in to a "portal of some kind", to a large island in the astral sea and/or some manner of pocket dimension.
They then find the Dread Emperor, who was the golden eyed child all along, the appearance being an illusion. Vox Machina defeats him and rescues most of the children.
