Sometime in this age, the f̸̣̉o̴̭͊u̵͖̿r̵̖̅ Elder-Archons emerge and establish themselves as semi-divine entities controlling most of the primordial Underworld.
The history of the Underworld is a murky one, plagued with lack of information and confusion. Despite this, efforts have been made to record it, and the skeleton of the Underworld’s Ages is depicted below.
The first age, of which not much is known. It is a broad period of time believed to include the formation of the Underworld and the first appearance of the Archons.
Sometime in this age, the f̸̣̉o̴̭͊u̵͖̿r̵̖̅ Elder-Archons emerge and establish themselves as semi-divine entities controlling most of the primordial Underworld.
The second age, an age of industrial revolution and societal progression. Esoteric technology was regularly unearthed, skyrocketing magical and technological discoveries.
The first contact event with the plane colloquially called the "Overworld" at Ingress #1, and including the subsequent failure of diplomacy, the massacre of the Underworld delegation, and the opening of the Ingresses across the Underworld.
The third age, plagued with conflict involving other planes and the Overworld. Planar invaders were common, and the Underworld was set on a path of dark retaliation.
A bloody plane-wide campaign of violence launched by a contingent of allied Archons to rid the Underworld of Infernal and Abyssal influence. It succeeded, severing the grip the Archdevils and Demon Lords had on the Underworld and weakening their power.
The fourth age, where the Archons began warring with one another for resources and might, emboldened by their victory.
A phenomenon that appeared around the borders of the Seven Regions, altering space-time and hindering trade and travel between regions. Goods would become corrupted or lost, and people and wildlife both would be affected physically and mentally.

The fifth and current age, where resources have begun to dwindle and the Outlands spread. The Underworld united under a singular ruler for the first time in history, yet in recent years, hope has become a precious commodity. Society struggles, but lives on. For now.
Through the consolidation of power, resources, and poorly understood magicks, Viafir declared himself Elder-Archon and became the first central governing body of the Underworld. Despite a large outcry from most other Archons, they were unable or unwilling to challenge his control.
The Outlands begin encroaching on certain parts of the Underworld, slowly warping them and skeletonizing the landscape. The areas around the Encroachment become home to all manner of monster, as well as brave adventurers.
Viafir declares total war against the Sunlit Kingdom in the Overworld, and launches a massive-scale military campaign in order to purge their threat and influence permanently. The Invasion is mostly successful, yet much about the specifics of what occurred and why has been lost to time.
Viafir suddenly disappears, his throne left empty. Nothing was ever learned about what happened, how, or why, yet despite the sudden power vacuum, his supporters supposedly still hold control over his domain.
