Session 16: Preparations in Povarus

General Summary

The party spent two more days in the city of Ponvarus in order to prepare and plan what to do next. Kazagal spent the first of these days at Shalandras Winding Shelves in order to find out what he could about devils and how to deal with them. In his research, which expanded long into the night he also found blueprints for a gnomish invention that may allow him to breath underwater, which could be useful should they try to delve into the temple described by Gorick. In the meantime, Dormaruk and Jeanne each respectively found a new recruit for the ship's crew. Dormaruk managed to run into yet another Aasimar hailing from Kang, although not as highly born. Jeanne on the other hand found an old friend Geneviève Frankling, an officer of the Golden Legion who promised to help train the crew members in the art of organized warfare. At the same time, Nakor made an attempt to shop at the Strong Potion but was rejected by the potion seller.
On the second day, the party made a joint trip to the chancellery where they found a report stating that the Pitched Wanker had been sighted and engaged north-east of Nova Aera, before they split up once more. After some more errands, where Dormaruk also went to the Strong Potion and actually managed to buy several potions from him and Jeanne spoke with one of the families, they headed off to one last errand. Kazagal had talked a lot with Jeanne about the idea of hellknights and their ability to fight devils. To this end, Jeanne took him to the Bastion of the Nail, where he was entered as a prospective armiger. After a meeting with a paralictor he was made into an armiger of the order and was assigned an instructor who would join him on his travels. This turned out to be an elderly gnome named Sir Horzin Thornleaf. He was a harsh tutor and immediately started to drill him. When they made it to the ship with an exhausted Kazagal, Dormaruk showed him to his quarters. 
Later that night Dormaruk awoke from a dream where the bronze dragon Vurvayssun was dragged down into the deep by a strange entity aboard the Pitched Wanker surrounded by a storm. He rushed up on deck and looked for the storm. The party left Povarus that very morning to follow the one clue they had, and look for the pirates who may be in area of the temple Gorick sent them to.
