Weaving Profession in The True Dark Ages | World Anvil

Weaving

Weaving has been around for thousands of years. It takes wool, yarn, silk, or threads (of different plants like cotton, linen or flax) and are interlaced at right angles to a set of vertical threads. This produces a cloth or fabric that can be used to make clothing. Knitting is one kind, and regularly done as a small home industry. Wool, then linen, and then nettlecloth are the most common for lower classes in Europe. Cotton and to a degree silk is used more for the upper classes.
