The Quinotaur Myth in The True Dark Ages | World Anvil

The Quinotaur

This myth is tied directly to the Merovingian  family of Frankish rulers. The belief is that the mother of Meroveus, and wife of King Chlodio of the Franks, was raped by the beast, and sired Meroveus giving birth in process to the Merovingian line. It is referred to as having the front half of a bull, and the latter half of a fish. Exactly where it happened remains unknown, and it is depicted as having five horns, two in the normal position, two facing forward, and the remaining pointing up between the two forward facing horns.
