Silk Production

Silk was originally imported to Europe from Asia since ancient times on the Silk Road. It has also took of since the 6th Century in Eastern Europe, after the introduction of the silkworm. There is still stiff competition between the Far East and Europe, as the European silk is seen as inferior & cheaper to the imported expensive Eastern variety.
