Master Dutch Breweries Organization in The True Dark Ages | World Anvil

Master Dutch Breweries

The Master Dutch Breweries is a guild & company based in Frisia dedicated to the brewing of beers & ciders. Based primarily in Rotterdam, it is controlled by the Appel family, Bierman family, and many local breweries run by monks. They all take in many independent brewers too, and act as quality control, marketing & supply.

Structure

The Master Dutch Breweries are made up of the business interests of the Appel & Bierman brewing families. The highest ranking members of the families work together in a building designated as the Master Brewers Mansion. in the main market square of Rotterdam. There they meet with the leading brewers of smaller family brewers, and the master brewers of monasteries. Each has a say in any agenda the crops up. They all exchange information and when one is lacking something the others will look to source it and/or provide it. This can be at rock bottom prices or for free depending on the nature of what is needed.

Culture

The free flow of information, and the needs of the breweries, are of top concern to the Master Dutch Breweries. With this the organization is bound to help each other with business interests related to this endeavour. Training can be provided, money and stock exchanged, brewing techniques & recipes can also be traded. This allows for the best for each brewery, and to take advantage of specific requirements that they need.

Public Agenda

To all intents & purposes, the general public are all too well aware of the Master Dutch Breweries and the agenda they have... to make the best beer, cider and related products that they can.

Assets

Multiple small independent breweries, guards & workers, horses & carts, along with a treasury are the main assets. The Appel & Bierman families have larger breweries, and all have access to warehouses and representatives that do their best to try to find the right markets for their products. They also try to build up networks through friendly nations to allow for business in these regions. Brewing equipment is abundant within the organization.

History

Started a few decades ago by the Appel family after they started major brewing, they seen the need for improvements in the manufacture of beer, cider and the like. Equipment, transport, and set standards were lad down along with many recipes for the products.   After a while others, especially the monasteries that produced beer, and the Bierman family started to complain about the Appel family running a monopoly. Many family owned brewery enterprises soon joined in. With this, the Appel family soon realised instead of fighting them or being dragged in front of the authorities, they could team up under the banner of either a single company or guild. By doing so, many members were able to intermarry carrying on the tradition, along with the exchange of assets where needed. Everybody could come out of it better off, and allow many of the smaller independents to benefit by being endorsed by the larger powerful groups.   So far this has worked out best for everyone, but only the gods know what the future holds.
