Personal history
Madame La Fayette was born in the forests to the west of Eschbach to a simple farming family. From a young age she displayed the ability to forsee the past, present & future of others, and saw the dead. In many instances she semmed to be able to talk to 'invisible friends' that no-one else could see or hear.
Throughout her childhood, La Fayette learned to focus these "gifts" with the use of Germanic Runestones. Finding that a few of the women in the matriarchal side of her family who shared similar gifts to some degree. Yet she proved to be more adept with the runes than most. Some in her family and in the local farming community put it down to the Fey, and others to less desireable entities.
When in her early teens it was known she had nearly drowned in a pool of stagnant water near the western part of the Central Massif. Given the nature of the region, many suspected that ther was more to her powers due to that facing a near death experience her links to th afterlife became stronger. Whether this is true or not worse was to come.
A few years later when she was about 17, two local hamlets that the region's inhabitants used for business was raided by bandits who sallied forth from the Central Massif. All were marked by strange osseus growths growing out of their bodies. They were twisted enough htat powerful magic somehow affected them and not of any kind that the locals cared for. The attacks also led to many blaming La Fayette for not having foreknowledge of this and eventually these simple folk drove her out cursing her. Saying this her family still lives ther and the rest were much more careful round them in case they angered the famliy more.
During her teens and into her 20s, La Fayette has studied a number of texts and abilities relating to her craft. She has become a Bard to keep the story of many of her subjects alive after helping them. As a member of the College of Spirits she closely followed the use & reading of runes to help her in her endeavours.
During this period she also had a call to travel to the east where she has now found her uses in the region surrounding Saxon lands, ranging from the border of Frankia to the Barvarii border area, and to Slavic lands in the east. With the conflicts taking place here regularly she has made a name for herself in certain circles.
She has recently found herself in the region of Eschbach.Something has drawn her here and the call of the dead seems to pull her forward, and something dark just at the edge of all this, something dark, and brooding, in the shadows.
