Light Elvish Skirmishers

Light Elvish Skirmishers are usually made up of Wood Elves. They are dressed in leather armour, and armed with bows and short swords. They regularly use short bows, usually to cut down on weight, though in pitched battles on areas of open terrain they will sometimes used long bows. Units of skirmishers will harass enemy units, allowing for the main body of troops to attack the front while they fight from the side or from behind their own units. They are mobile enough to with draw as necessary to attack again from another angle.
The skirmishers usually fight to protect their homelands, and at times ally with other armies against mutual threats. Also, they aren't above fighting as mercenaries if the pay is right.
