The lamia are the descendants of the daemon called Lamia who devoured children. Lamia original was a queen of Libya who Zeus was infatuated with. When she bore him children, his wife Hera slaughtered them after finding out. This drove Lamia insane, and murdered every child she could get. Cursed further by Hera, she mutated into a human from the waist up, and a lioness from the waist down. She kept her beautiful looks in the process. She mated with other daemons, and gives birth to the lamia, that have the same level of looks and and the need to consume children.   Each lamia is arrogant to the extreme and loves to be the centre of attention by sycophants who raid all around their lairs for treasure, and children to abduct for the lamia to eat. Each will make a lair in an abandoned ruin or settlement near well travelled trade routes and other paths. This allows for the odd disappearance to go unnoticed and be blamed on bandits, thieves, and cutthroats. Each lamia is addicted to living a life of pure unadulterated pleasure at all costs, and taking it to the extreme, and are well-versed in the most pleasurable pursuits possible. This ranges from exotic drinks, foods, sexual appetites to the best items that can be offered, hunting the most powerful or terrorized creatures, rare or exotic drugs, and trafficking in daemonic pleasures.

Suggested Environments

Ruined buildings & settlements near trading routes from Greece to Libya, and a few surrounding lands.
