Hexbloods - Outcasts & Hunted

Hexbloods are pitiful beings to many. They are halfway between human & and hag. Usually a hag will demand a child for her own when making a bargain with mortals, and if it is not fulfilled, the child develops into a Hexblood her 13th birthday. Each will have a vivid coloured skin similar to the hag who wanted the child, and bony crest around her head like a crown. Each also develops an affinity for spellcasting and can prove to be even more potent when part of a coven of other Hexbloods.   When discovered, a Hexblood is usually put to death, or driven off, similar to a Tiefling, and thought of the same. Each will end up believing themselves to be cursed, and usually have problems settling in any society except with other outsiders. Some are peaceful & friendly, and others are as twisted as a hag. In many cases the hag that created the bargain will try to hunt down the Hexblood herself. This is because she believes that the Hexblood is her child, and wants to finish the transformation of another potential hag. Others do it, knowing that it will cause further pain & torment on others by doing this. Most Hexbloods try to avoid this as many innately know that this is painful to themselves, especially when they know their old selves will be stripped away.   Most Hexbloods live lonely lives far way in wilderness regions to avoid being found or causing damage to others. A few team up with outlanders and adventurers where they know their skills can be of use to them. The odd one will team up with evil creatures knowing their powers can be used then to lash out at those who caused them pain & anguish.
