Dwarven Hammer Guard

Dwarven Hammer Guard fight at the forefront of many Dwarven armies, allied armies or as mercenaries. They are a tough unit armed with war hammers, shields, metal helmets, and a mix of plate mail & chainmail. From the centre of the battle line, they act like an anchor point for an army, being able to absorb much damage while smashing their way through into the opposing lines. It is usual to keep them covered with archers, and have troops with spears on either side to keep cavalry charges at bay.
