Ability Score Increase +2 Con, +1 Wis
Size Medium
Speed 25ft

Hill Dwarves live in the hilly terrain surrounding mountains. Like many of their kin they can trace their family and clan back to ancestors who came from Svartalfheim. Smaller than humans at 4 to 5 feet tall, they are bulkier at about 150 lbs, and of are Medium in build. They live longer, mature at about 50 years old and live on average to 350 odd years. They place emphasis on a well-ordered society and are generally Lawful on outlook. Not as fast as some species their walking speed is about 25 feet, though due to their innate toughness they are not slowed by heavy armour. As a species they have a number of unique traits, such as having Darkvision (up to 60 ft), and Dwarven Resilience (an advantage on saves vs Poison, and resistance to poison damage). Dwarves are known to hold grudges, and can be quite aggressive if pushed, leading to many of them having Dwarven Combat Training (they have proficiency with battleaxes, hand axes, light hammers and warhammers). Many are craftsmen by trade and have bonus concerning these (Tool Proficiency - proficiency with smith's tools, brewer's supplies, or mason's tools), and they can spot details concerning worked stone (can make an Intelligence (History) check related to the origin of stonework, being considered proficient in the History skill, and doubling their proficiency bonus).   Hill Dwarves show a certain caution, and patience compared to their brothers the Mountain Dwarves. This shows in their Ability Scores as a +1 to Wisdom. They are tougher than their brothers, gain one extra hit point per level.
