Barber Surgeon

Barber surgeons are the tradesmen that fill two jobs in society. They are trained to deal with the grooming of a patron, and dealing with the basic medical needs of the community. They set broken bones, carried out bloodletting procedure, amputations, removal of cataracts, and pulling teeth to say a few of the procedures they do. To attend one is risky as they do not sterilise their equipment, at least to any useful standard. Also blood loss is not unheard off due to some of the practises. Many would be hired if a city of region went to war, as they could potentially help out wounded troops.
They would not be truly recognized until the year 1000 AD.
