The 26 invasions of Utnapishtim
In a period of seven years the planet Humbaba invaded the planet Utnapishtim a grand total of 26 times.
The invasions started the day after the coronation of King Orson LXIX, who was eleven years old at the time. The Grand Vizier was appointed to make all the important decisions until the King turned eighteen. The Grand Vizier decided to keep with the previous King’s aggressive policy and invade a neighboring star system.
Utnapishtim is a world that is 95 % covered by water and the Humbaban ships were not equipped for landing in water, and so they were forced to break off each invasion after just days, sometimes hours.
The Grand Vizier was preparing a celebratory 27th invasion for the King’s eighteenth birthday, but missed the date by one day. The King’s first decision as an adult monarch was to have the Grand Vizier executed and then cancelled all future invasions of Utnapishtim.
