Some might have called them an uncouth name like "Hobbits" in some other work of literature, who can say?

Basic Information

Anatomy

Halflings are humanoid. Taller than gnomes and roughly the same height as dwarves, they are small compared to humans and elves. Halflings are also somewhere between gnomes and dwarves in terms of body build; a very, very large halfling might weigh as much as 150 pounds, but never 200 like a moderately sturdy dwarf. They might get skinny, down to 70 pounds as an adult, but never down to 40 pounds like a gnome. in general they are in the 100 pound range, some lighter, some heavier.

Halflings can be clueless, simple, happy, easy going folk, but they are deceptively bright, and have been underestimated on many occasions.

Halflings get on particularly well with Gnomes. They have very few dealings with Elves, and consider Dwarves to be too serious by half.

150 years. Some few have reached 200.
