The Capitol
The Capitol is the seat of the United States Congress. It is located on Capitol Hill at the end of the National Mall in Washington DC.
The oldest parts of the building were completed in 1800. It was enlarged in the 1850s by extending chambers for the House of Representatives and the Senate. The dome was completed in 1866.
