Kerevin's Pipes
Formed of two large transparent synth pipes, each three metres in diameter, Kerevin's Pipe is 80 metres tall, extending the full height of the cliffs that house the settlement of Kerevin's Drop. Drawing water up from the river below, its existence makes the entire settlement possible by supplying water to the town and to the farms up on the Gorven Plateau. They are by far the oldest buildings in the settlement, and existed long before Kerevin discovered them roughly two hundred years ago.
Build long ago by a civilisation now forgotten by time, they nevertheless continue to operate perfectly. Each pipe is largely plain, ascending the full height of the cliff face with no obvious supporting structures holding them aloft. The only noticable feature on each pipe is two spherical nodes that each pipe passes through; one at the height of the settlement and the other at the very top of the cliff face. At both, smaller pipes in the side allow water to be siphoned away. Near the pipes, the telltale signs of a dry waterfall reveal that once water flowed down this cliff face too, and was probably responsible for eroding out the recess in the cliff face that now harbours the town of Kerevin's Drop.
The pipes themselves are jealously protected by the Malkine League, who are responsible for maintaining it and keep it operational. Whilst they are gracious enough to ensure that no one in the town goes thirsty, they frequently use their control of the towns water supply to further their political ends.
