Teios

One of the most powerful in the Middle Realm, Teios is home to all major races. Despite the fact that its rocky earth is no good for farming, its central location makes it a prime spot for ships to dock and trade their wares.

Structure

Teios is a kingdom ruled by a long line of Human royalty, the Tamarath. The current queen, Queen Ysolde Tamarath, has been in power for around twenty years and has seen Teios through their recent civil war. Teios is divided into seven sectors, each one being ruled by a Duke or Duchess in the area. Despite the monarchy being determined by inheritance, the Dukes/Duchesses can be anyone and a formal petition can be delivered to the Queen by the people if they want to replace the current Duke or Duchess. The new one will be picked by the Queen, however.

Assets

Teios boasts a marketplace where you can find anything from rare magical texts to mercenary bands for hire due to their centrally-located maritime ports. As far as exports from the country itself, Teios boasts a thriving lumber industry as well as several trade schools of magic, smithing, and artisanship.

Demography and Population

Teios is home to every race in the Three Realms, but the majority are human, followed closely by elves. This became a point of contention during the Civil War. Despite its relative diversity, prejudice still exists among the people of Teios; the Drakish are considered brutish and stupid, being mostly hired out as laborers or mercenaries, and the Icari are fetishized and seen as ignorant and weak due to a high number of Icari prostitutes. Humankind remains mostly in positions of power, occupying most of the noble classes.

Religion

Teios has no official religion and allows worship of any and all deities within reason, as long as worship does not break the law. Palladian religion is probably among the more prolific, as well as elven practitioners of Shu'Bam (another point of contention during the civil war).
