Snowrise Flowers

Similar to snowdrop flowers that exist in the Inspired Realms in appearance, snowrise flowers are in full bloom within the snow. It is said they once collapsed as their Inspired cousin breed did, but once Wylylendra was true to himself they forever stood tall with him. As such, they are commonly grown around his shrines and temples, and featured on the vestments of his holy folk.

Tenets of Faith

"To be true to oneself is the higest form of beauty."
Devotees of Wylylendra believe in self-discovery and celebration, and that finding one's true self is the most beautiful experience in all the realms. However, this is not seen as an easy process - as Wylylendra is also a god of survival, finding ways to push through the dark until the sun is finally able to rise is also praised. Members of the faith refer to scars as beauty marks, as they are proof that one has survived - and can be part of the process of finding oneself.

Personal history

Wylylendra was born of a single flower blooming in the darkness of night, the culmination of small determination that cannot always be seen. When he first began walking the Elven Realm, he was thought to be a goddess - and he too believed this, as he resembled others with this title. Wylylyendra was often misunderstood at this time - being credited only with dominion over frost plants which bloomed with his every step. He was taken under the wing of Eleamera, the Frost Elf Goddess of the Moon and hearth.    However, the more time he spent with the various goddesses in Eleamera's care, the more he felt this was not the place he belonged. And so he left her grand ice palace in the Divine Realm, seeking his own path. He found himself walking through the dark places there, a small beacon in his white coat - and it was there he met the wolf god, Iet'emet.    Iet'emet had a fierce reputation - he was the Frost Elf god of hunger and survival, lean and quick to anger. And yet, despite this, he warned Wylylendra to turn back - chased him, nipping at his heels - but never drawing blood, his snarls more intimidating than his teeth. Wylylendra felt a kinship with this god - he saw reflected in Iet'emet his own feelings of being misunderstood, but not knowing what had been misunderstood. Wylylendra proposed to Iet'emet that, if the wolf feared for the little flower deity, they should walk through the dark together. Having failed to scare Wylylendra into returning to the Moonlit Palace, Iet'emet agreed.    It was by walking together that the pair realized their domain in common - Survival. One fierce and snarling, the other quiet and determined, but both finding a way to live when conditions were harsh. They traveled through the Elven and Divine Realms as they pleased, seeking only the place where they both felt at home together. In time, Eleamera invited them back to the Moonlit Palace - she missed Wylylendra, and wanted to ensure he was well, even with her misgivings about Iet'emet.    They went, and once among the many goddesses again, Wylylendra had a revelation - that he was a god, and not a goddess, and the home he'd been seeking had not been outside but within. Eleamera celebrated this discovery with him, holding a grand feast - inviting the elven deities of all four pantheons.    But on the night of the feast, Iet'emet disappeared - feeling lost, Wylyendra left the feast before it began, seeking out his dearest friend. Once again meeting in the dark, Iet'emet snapped and snarled, claiming that they no longer shared a path. The Wylyendra had discovered himself and could now be understood in the light with the others, while Iet'emet would slink back to the shadows where they would no longer remind others of things they would rather forget. Of hunger and pain, of years wandering without light. Things Wylylendra would wish to forget as well.    Wylylendra did not fear this howling, and embraced Iet'emet - as no one had done before. He did not wish to forget hunger - hunger for understanding, hunger for belonging, as they had led him to Iet'emet. He did not wish to forget pain, pain of not knowing himself, for it led him to seek answers. He did not wish to forget wandering, for he had not wandered alone - and would not have known himself without having first wandered in the dark.    Iet'emet, too, had a revelation - that he was needed, but more than that, he was wanted. That his home, his place of belonging, was with Wylyendra - and Wylylendra felt the same. In that moment, the two recognized romantic love had blossomed between them - and their union gave birth to a new goddess who would one day become Aweyn, the goddess of truth.
