Young mirage spiders lack the crystalline carapace they will develop later in life - many perish while remaining near the cave or undergrowth they were born in. After five years, they fully develop their carapace and leave to find a place to hunt.

Mirage Spiders prefer dark, sheltered areas. They are ambush predators - waiting for prey to pass in front of them before leaping out to paralyze it with venomous fangs.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Mirage Spiders eat smaller insects and mammals, but won't hesitate to attack something around their own size. They tend to avoid larger predators unless necessary.
