Beguiling Lotuses
A demonic plant often found in castle gardens.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Beguiling Lotuses have large, white blossoms that typically have a two to three foot diameter - and thick roots that usually grow six or more feet in length. They grow as singular flowers.
Ecology and Habitats
Beguiling Lotuses grow on the surface of ponds and lakes, preferably in shaded areas.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Beguiling Lotuses use their ability to pick up on surface thoughts to project an image into the mind of their prey, drawing them close enough to pull into the water and drown for nutrients.
Behaviour
Lotuses tend to bunch into groups, wrapping their roots around each other. When prey is nearby, one lotus will separate to act as bait - the others close enough to help keep struggling prey from escaping.
Additional Information
Domestication
Domesticated Beguiling Lotuses are unable to leave their bodies of water, but their wild counterparts are able to "stand" outside water for brief periods of time and ocassionally migrate to areas with more prey.
