The Third Script is a modern fantasy setting where the boundaries between the divine, the mundane, and the catastrophic are blurred by the actions of a cosmic entity known as the Architect.
Core Premise
At the heart of the world is the Architect-a being of immense power but limited knowledge, who claims authorship of the universe’s foundational rules. Rather than micromanaging creation, the Architect experiences existence by fracturing herself into countless “shards.” These shards live as plants, animals, and humans, gathering experiences and memories that are reabsorbed after death, shaping the Architect’s evolving perspective.
The Magic Cycle
Magic was originally part of the world, designed as a source of unpredictable possibility. However, after a near-apocalyptic event in the 10th century, the Architect erased magic from reality and human memory, hoping to prevent further existential threats while allowing humanity to progress.
The Announcement Event
In 2025, humanity again teeters on the brink of destruction-this time through nuclear warfare. The Architect intervenes directly, manifesting through a Canadian teacher, Emily Dawson, in a globally broadcast event. She renders all nuclear weapons inert and announces her intent to take a more active role in safeguarding the world. The event leaves behind lingering supernatural phenomena and triggers worldwide political, scientific, and religious upheaval.
The Avatar
To communicate with humanity, the Architect creates a public avatar: a humanoid figure with prismatic eyes, iridescent skin, and a shadow that moves independently. This avatar becomes the Architect’s spokesperson, delivering messages and guidance while embodying both the familiar and the incomprehensible.
