Welcome to Coriolis Station

General Summary

Our story starts with the Deathwish crew on approach to Coriolis Station, the jewel of the Third Horizon. Ithar, the pilot, steers the ship to land on the docking bays of Neoptra Spaceport. While Ithar is doing this, Salah relays the fake landing codes she's got to get around the exorbitant docking fees. She successfully does this, and the docking bay agent assigned to them gives them the approval to land in one of the thousands of docking bays in the spaceport. Ithar does some tricky flying and manages to scrape through the hundreds of ships moving all around the spaceport, and land the ship more or less intact.

They store their larger weapons onboard, and go out to meet one of the station's customs officers to declare their cargo, and scan their goods. Realizing that they may have brought aboard a possibly dangerous plant from their last adventure in a derlict space station, they give their plants to Izzaldin. Izzaldin is given the task to persuade the customs officer that they aren't carrying any illegal plants, animals, and weaponry into the station. The officer is successfully pursuaded and realizes that the crew is a regular visitor to the station, and one of the numerous official mercenary companies that work in the station. He waves them through into the station without further checks.   Wahib's Cantina
The crew head on over to Wahib's Cantina to see if there are any jobs available for the crew. With their patron running dry with lucrative jobs, the crew looks for independent merc jobs with their favourite Coriolis fixer, Wahib. Wahib tells them of a job from a man named Merez Alcan. Apparently it is a simple search job and shouldn't take too long to do. Wahib tells them the contract is for 10,000 Birr with the possibilty of double pay for a secondary task. The crew accepts, and Wahib tells the crew that Merez can be found in the Neoptra Spaceport in Docking Bay 9. The crew heads on over to Neoptra Spaceport.   Merez Alcan
The crew meet with Merez Alcan as he is finishing offloading cargo from his ship. He asks the crew if they're from Wahib, and the crew says yes. Merez introduces himself as an antiques dealer looking for an object that a man named Lavim Tamm has. He wants to find the man, and offer a deal an a priceless Portal Builder artifact, a statuette of the Dancer icon. Last he heard, Lavim is on the station somewhere and needs someone to track him down. Merez tells them the job is as simple as finding Lavim Tamm, and successfully offering a deal to him to get the statuette and bringing the statuette to him. For getting a deal on the statuette, Merez will be paying double the contract fee. The crew tries to negotiate a better price, but Merez gets angry telling the crew they shouldn't be renegotiating behind Wahib's back as Wahib has a reputation to uphold. If Wahib hears about this, they may lose future jobs from him for this. The crew reluctantly agrees with Merez's contract and set off to find Lavim Tamm.   The Spice Plaza
The crew start their search in the Spice Plaza as they hear from Merez that he heard that Lavim hangs around here. Some of the crew asks the local traders about Lavim to no avail, but others are more successful. They hear that Lavim likes drinking Miran Fire Kohol, and that he sometimes hang around the White Tugur Bar in the middle of the Spice Plaza. With this new information, the crew will head on to the White Tugur Bar, but not before arming half the crew with legal weapons to protect themselves as some of the crew are without weapons as they were too big or too illegal to be carrying around hidden on Coriolis Station.   The Ozone Plaza
The crew find themselves in the "Toys R' Us" of weaponry, technology, and armour. The crew manage to whittle down their choices to 3 stores in the plaza that have a good selection of weapons that can be legally carried for self defence in order of affordability and quality. Some crewmen manage to haggle successfully for quality weaponry, but others are kicked out of stores for laughably lowballing quality weapons. They fail enough that they get kicked out of the quality stores and end up at a bargain bin stand for self-defense weapons. The store is run by a tailor, but moonlights as a weapons dealer at the Ozone Plaza. The crew manages to score a deal on 5 combat knives for 30 birr, and arm the weaponless crew members with them. They later realize the knives they bought were ordinary kitchen knives worth just a little over 1 birr each.   The White Tugur Bar
The crew visit the Spice Plaza again to ask for information from the Tugur's matriarch, Jasina. Some other crew members opt to question some of the regulars at the bar to see if they know of Lavim. Some do, but not many have seen him in a few cycles. Jasina gives information saying that he often frequents Archaeology Alley near Spring Plaza, but where he goes, she doesn't know. This information came with a price. The crew begrudgingly parts away with some of their birr and head out of the bar.   Steeplechase on the Promenade
Hakam spots a hooded figure in the crowded plaza watching them this whole time. The hooded figure starts running away, and the crew decides to give chase. Unfortunately, Hakam trips over a street urchin who purposefully crouches before his feet to give the runner a little time. In the chase, Ithar gets disoriented by the fog in the tanning and dyeing district and falls into a vat of blue dye. Izzaldin and Salah continue to give chase, and end up on a rickety bridge above the promenade. Izzaldin steps on a weak slat on the bridge and falls to the next level below. She is unharmed, but will have to take the tube train around and back to this area costing him an hour. With Salah the only one left, she manages to corner the runner in an alley, and he tackles her on the ground. She holds her down and contacts the crew via comlink for assistance. The rest of the crew manage to locate Salah and begin to question the runner. The runner refuses to give any information about Lavim Tamm to the mercenaries, and none of them seem to succeed in convincing her. However, Hakam uses a little force and slaps her around until she starts talking. The girl divulges that her name is Jinna, and she is a friend of Lavims. All she knows is he is currently hiding in the Archaeology Alley in a shop called Kaffrah's Artifacts. What he's hiding from, he doesn't know. The crew then take Jinna hostage and has her lead them to Kaffrah's Artifacts.   Kaffrah's Artifacts
At Kaffrah's Artifacts, they meet the proprietor of the shop, Kaffrah, on old crone of a woman with a knack for manipulating poor unsuspecting customers for paying way more on worthless artifacts. The crew ask her for information on Lavim, but she will only do so for a price. The crew start paying for each question she answers, but Hakam growing really impatient, uses the same strategy on the old woman as he did with Jina, and gives her a giant slap across the face. Everyone in the store, shocked and horrified, see the old trickster crumple to the floor. Jinna whimpers as she is in the presence of unruly pirates who'll stop at nothing to get what they want. The old woman finally divulges the information that the crew desperately need. She points above her shop and says Lavim is hiding in the boarding house just above her establishment. The crew thank her and continue upwards to the boarding house.   "The Quiet Eunuch" Boarding House
The crew enter the boarding house and are greeted by legionary veteran, Silca Burros. The crew ask where Lavim Tamm is, and he immediately point towards the habitation capsule behind him. He knows to stay out of the way when someone is looking for someone especially in Coriolis Station. The crew open his capsule to find him surrounded in Miran Fire Kohol bottles and wasted. They drag him out and question him about the statuette.

He has been crying and depressed. He tells his sob story of how he was on an expedition in the Terenganu Valley down in the planet of Kua many cycles ago. Him and his crew of exo-archaeologists were surveying an ancient Portal Builder site and found many strange and fascinating things there. However, a mystical power killed off everyone in his crew. He was the only survivor of his crew and he narrowly escaped whatever it was that killed everyone in the dig site.

He continues to weep for his dead friends and colleagues, and wonders why he wasn't killed. He then tells the crew he found a small statuette with some strange powers and smuggled it onboard Coriolis Station. At this point, he doesn't care what happens to him and tells the crew where he hid the statuette. A datatag containing information about the excavation site's findings and what transpired is also hidden with the statuette. He tells them that he hid the statuette and datatag in a sewer grate in an abandoned walkway above the promenade. The crew drags him out of the boarding house to lead them to it.   The Syndicate
As the crew reach the bridge, they spot Merez and two thugs on the other side of the bridge. The crew immediately realize that this was a setup, and Merez isn't just an ordinary antiquities dealer. He tells the crew that he works for the Syndicate, and it would do them good to hand over Lavim so that he can find the statuette for them. The crew considers this, and refuses because they want Lavim to find the statuette so they can get paid for handing both of them over. Merez quickly takes out a pistol and shoots Lavim, and he falls to his death from the bridge. Jinna shrieks in anguish over the death of her close friend. Merez tells the crew not to mess with the Syndicate as they control all corners of the station and to the outer reaches of the Third Horizon.

Merez tells the crew that, now that they've seen him killing Lavim, he has no choice but to kill the crew to eliminate any witnesses. The crew engage in a firefight with Merez and his thugs. After about an hour, the crew manage to kill Merez and his thugs and find the statuette and datatag in the sewer grate that Lavim previously told them about. The crew transfer the money owed to them by the now dead Merez from his datatag. The crew decide to head to the planet of Kua and to the excavation site to steal some of the artifacts there in hopes of selling them on the black market.
