Spring Run
Geography
The Spring Run flows from Lake Eladrin in the Forbidden Valley. It flows southeast, along the western edge of the Glacial Ridge Mountains and Green Mountains, picking up water from hundreds of tributaries along the way. It continues right along the same edge past where the Green Mountains have given way to hills, all the way to the Estaes Ocean.
The Spring Run Basin does not form a delta, and all the gathered water flows through a relatively narrow but deep channel as it reaches the sea. While the bottom of the channel is below sea level, the sheer volume of water means that it reaches the ocean in a column over a hundred feet above the ocean surface during the spring melt. The water fans out into a wide pseudo-fall, eroding the ocean floor below and creating a pocket of several hundred square miles that is over five hundred feet deep right off the coast, all brackish water that supports an incredibly diverse ecosystem.
