The Tower

The Tower is a building located in the Verdan Wood and acts as the main magical assembly building in Veridia and the perminent residence of the Archmage Valdecir Eravius. It functions as an establishment for mana related study and innovation, and is the only government sanction building of it's kind in the world.

Purpose / Function

The structure was built specifically for the purpose of innovation in Manacraft, a worthy objective that, due to the nature of Manacraft study, not many have attempted in such an institutional manner before, certainly never with the explicit approval and financial backing of the state. Because of this, it is seen to represent magical practice in Veridia.
Due to the hurdles faced in the innovation of Manacraft, the building has been built with this in mind. The location itself is very remote, both incase of magical mishap as well as secrecy so that any discoveries or specific areas of research are not easily accessible by spies. The building has many rooms which are warded against the manipulation of mana, a difficult feat which was performed by the Archmage himself after the Tower's completion.
The library contained within the Tower is the second largest library in Veridia, and contains the largest collection of mana related texts in the world.

Architecture

The building is a tall, gothic structure, built using cut, high density limestone. It is built as a large, circular tower with a central, spiralling staircase which leads to the various rooms and chambers of the tower. The inside of the building is decorated in warm reds and browns, with plastered walls and accents of brick. There are a few arcane fireplaces throughout the tower which are either brick or cast iron.
