Devmarius

(a.k.a. Marius)

Devmarius, or Marius for short, is an elegant, spindly man with impeccable dress and even more impeccable manner. He is the person responsible for managing The Tower to the Archmage Valdecir Eravius's specifications since their appointment by King Gionand Fiorenach 16 years ago. Originally he was a spy for the King, and Valdecir had assumed they were at least reporting back to him, a fact which was quickly confirmed within the first few months of his employ.

Personal history

Devmarius was born in the capital city of Veridia to two leaders of the prominent religious sect in the city. He was raised within the religious sect and was very dedicated to the tenants, however at the age of 15 he was found experimenting with Manacraft as a way to enhance Theurgy. This resulted in his ostricization from the sect. Unsure of what to do with the highly intelligent young man, his family arranged for him to work under the Archmage Valdecir Eravius by appointment of the King, Gionand Fiorenach.

Employment

Devmarius has been employed at The Tower since age 16. During his first year, he acted as a spy for King Gionand Fiorenach and reported back with any information regarding the Archmage's work, mainly whether or not any was being conducted as the King wanted assurance that he wasn't being taken advantage of. Although he attempted to be discreet, Devmarius's actions did not go unnoticed by Valdecir, who let him conduct his work for the King for months without interference. After the first year, Valdecir eventually asked Devmarius whether or not the King was 'satisfied with the information he had been provided' and from then on Devmarius's reports were written by both himself and the Archmage in order to limit the crown's direct involvement with the Tower.
