Rushari

Rushari is a shardmind scholar and the founder and leader of the Starbound Lorekeepers Syndicate.

History

Formed in 1219 on Halthus in Mindspace, Rushari shared the innate shardmind desire to seek out and collect fragments of the Living Gate. Similar to the other shardminds of Mindspace, she was a Thought Builder, dedicated to collecting enough pieces of the Living Gate to reform it, and she traveled extensively throughout the Rapide Frontier, learning a great deal about local cultures, myths, and technology while continuing her search.   Over time, Rushari began to believe that the shardmind search for the shards of the Living Gate would be greatly improved if they could recruit non-shardminds for assistance to exploit strength in numbers. To forward this goal, Rushari founded the Starbound Lorekeepers Syndicate in 1444. However, early membership was slow, and Rushari understood that most humanoids needed some type of incentive to offer their assistance, and so Rushari began offering to share her own collective knowledge and research. This worked, and the Syndicate's membership began to grow, adding to the collective archived knowledge of the group, thereby adding more people.   Rushari's leadership continued to evolve as the SLS grew. Originally directly overseeing all Syndicate operations, Rushari eventually transitioned into a guild model with herself at the head. She also recognized that many new recruits were joining to learn and archive knowledge completely unrelated to the shards of the Living Gate, but accepted this as a good thing, believing that the more information that Syndicate had, the more resources it had to levy in finding the sought-after shards.   Rushari also began experiencing some tensions with her fellow shardminds. Though many agreed with her methods, as 100 of the roughly 300 members of the SLS are shardminds, others worried that too much information about the Living Gate shards might make it easier for non-shardminds to steal them or use them for their own purposes. In the face of these accusations, Rushari maintained that her method was the best for her own people and the collective people of the Rapide Frontier.
