Unseelie Court
The Unseelie Court, also known as the Winter Court or the Court of Shadows, traces its origins back to the Feywilds. While many fey tend toward mischievousness, some fey took this practice to the extreme, often to tragic ends for the mortals with whom these fey interacted. These malevolent pranks eventually led to mortals beginning to hunt and kill fey of all types en masse. The Queen of the Seelie Court brought this to an end by banishing the violent fey from the Feywilds. These exiled fey first sought refuge on the mortal plane, but due to the continued hunts of fey creatures at the time, they later settled in the Shadowfell. After arriving in the plane of shadows, the banished formed their own Court, which they named the Unseelie Court as a mockery of the archfey that banished them.
Today, the Unseelie Court is made up of an ever-decreasing population of fey who succumb to the necrotic despair of the plane and become powerful undead, while others twist into monsters and aberrations of pure negativity and anguish.
