Jareza, The Four Faced Goddess

Jareza is a changing goddess, going through four different forms throughout the year, each with a different personality and motive. In the spring she is nurturing and kind, in the summer she is wild and care-free, in the autumn she is stern and demanding, and in the winter she is harsh and cruel. Jareza appears as a tall and regal looking fae woman, who slowly grows older throughout the year, before being reborn in the spring. She wears flowing robes robes that transform themselves with different plant life throughout the year. Jaerza is also the goddess of the Fae, and her Divine Realm moves throughout different parts of the Reflection at different times.   Jareza's spring manifestation is known as the Lifebringer. During this time she is happy and helpful, working to heal the damage dealt during winter, and encouraging new growth and new life. She takes the form of a young child, and spreads new plant life as she travels about the world. This manifestation is about hope, and the promise that as long as one continues to live they can continue to grow and recover, no matter what they might have faced.   Jareza's summer manifestation is known as the Wild Spirit. This form appears as a teenager, and is wily and capricious. The Wild Spirit encourages adventure, excitement, and travel. The Wild Spirit is also a renowned prankster, but her pranks are not something to be trifled with, as to her a drought or wildfire is just as funny as hiding a shoe. Despite these pranks the Wild Spirit is overall considered a mostly good hearted manifestation, as she claims to just be giving mortals an opportunity to prove their heroism.   Jareza's autumn manifestation is known as Fading Mother. In this form she is a full grown woman, with a much stricter personality than her previous incarnations. As the Fading Mother, Jareza is largely focused on preparation, and being ready for hardships ahead. This is largely because she is aware that her final, most brutal form is coming, and she wants people to be prepared for winter. In this form she teaches that those who are not ready will be left unable to survive in times of hardship, and that there is a time when work must be focused on, and distractions must be abandoned.   Jareza's winter manifestation is known as the Winter Hag. In this form she takes on the appearance of a cruel old woman. The Winter Hag is a cruel goddess, that believes in weeding out the weakest. She is a goddess of punishment for the unprepared, and ensuring that strength triumphs. The Winter Hag brings illness, blizzards, and cold all as an attempt to cull the weak. The old pass away and make room for the young, the weak die so that the strong may live, and those who did not properly prepare are punished for their foolishness. In this form she actively states that those who are not strong enough to survive should not be assisted by others, and those that die as a result of trying to save other just show their own foolishness. As winter goes on the Winter Hag herself grows weaker, until even she is consumed by her own rule, before being reborn once again, and restarting the cycle anew.   Jareza's church is complicated and varied. Much of her worship comes from the fae, as her different personalities make her difficult for any one person to completely worship. Of the mortals who do worship her, many focus on only one or a few of her manifestations, and see the others, especially winter, as a test of their faith. Her worship also varies with climate and those who live in hotter, more draught prone regions that don't have harsh snowy winters often see the summer manifestation as the cruelest aspect of the goddess.
