Adavance Character Creation

This is the advanced character creation system for strixheim and will be used to allow players to create more detailed characters or customize their class outcomes further. Begin with the character sheet When making your character, you must first begin with the character sheet. This is where you will track all the information for your character including their features, stats and other details.

Select your Race

When selecting your race you will have a few different things to look at, these include racial bonuses as well as racial flaws. These bonuses and flaws will lower or increase certain stats of your character to reflect what that race is partcally good at. Your race will also have a base hit points as well as basic cosmetic information such as height, life span, ECT. your race will also have a choice of features and these will come under their feature list. There may also be mandatory features for your race. You may select up to 2 features from your races feature list in addition you must take your mandatory features of your race as well. If there are no features from your race that you would like to take then you may take a general feature from the general feature list instead, and you may only take one general feature. You may also take a disabling feature to gain a bonus based on the disabling feature you take. For a list of disabling features refer to the disabling feature list.   If you select to go a half species you must first confirm your DM is happy for you to go your specific combination. First you take their average base hit points for both the races, for example if 1 of the races has 6 hitpoints and the other has 8 then your character would have 7. Then you take the bonuses and flaws of both races together and average them rounding down in the case of .5. After this you take 1 feature from each race then any mandatory features from both races. At this point you must take 1 singler disabling feature from the disabling feature list.

Select your Background/History

When selecting your background or the history of your upbringing, you will need to consider what your character did prior to the events of the main campaign, they may have been a blacksmith who has joined a fatasical adventure or maybe there is a monster hunter who is just on another mission to kill another monster. When you select your Background/History you will have your ability score increase or decrease based on there bonuses or there flaws from living that type of life. You also will gain proficiencies based on how that background or history made you use your skill and knowledge throughout your life.

Lineage Creation

With the advanced character creation system you create your lineage that you come from. This can be your home land or the family you come from. You first must select 2 proficiencies that relate to your lineage and agreed up by the DM, Then you may gain an additional feature from the list of general features or your racial feature list that links to your background. You may also gain a feature outside those lists if the DM agrees on you acquiring that feature. You must also select up to 2 languages that you know that relate to your lineage.

Class Acquisition

When you make your character you get to select classes to reflect the style of combat and skills. These classes can reflect certain forms of training you have received. When making a character you get 4 class points, and these class points are able to be used to acquire major or minor classes. Major classes are worth 2 class points and minor classes are worth 1 class points. Each time you gain a level in any class from the advanced character system, you gain 1 additional feature of choice from your class or if that class is a class with spells, you may gain 1 spell from their list instead. When doing your class acquisition you must select at least 1 major class. It is advisable to acquire several classes to make a well rounded character.

Equipment Acquisition

When doing equipment acquisition during character creation, you get to select an array of equipment. This will be the starting equipment that your character gets to use. Players get to select 2 weapons from the basic weapons list, then they may select any piece of armor from the medium or light armor list. You also get 5 days of rations, basic clothing, and a basic bag. After this you may select 10 items of your choice to reflect your character. Your dm may have you change some items if they do not fit. Also if you chose a range weapon you have 20 basic ammunition as part of the weapon selection, or if its an item like pitons, then you would receive 10 of them.

Calculating final Values and Leveling up characters

When selecting your character you get 4 points to add to your attributes. You may also deduct up to 4 points from any attributes you have, to increase other attributes you have up to the total deducted. You may also switch any of the attribute points gained with increasing your total hitpoints. At this point you may choose your favorite stat and this can be any stat you decide and this can be any stat you want unless a class states otherwise.   Your wound threshold you calculate it as follows, minor wounds are equal to 1+constitution+armor and this may also be increased by a racial traits and if you are proficient in the armor you may add your proficiency bonus, for moderate wounds it is equal to double a minor wound, and a major wound is 3 times a minor wound.   Each time your character levels up You get 4 class points, these are used to acquire additional levels in any classes you decide just like when you selected your original classes. Just like when you selected your original classes, major classes are worth 2 class points and a minor class is worth 1 class point. And just like when you made your character, each time you gain a level in any class from the advanced character system, you gain 1 additional feature of choice from your class or if that class is a class with spells, you may gain 1 spell from their list instead.   You gain a proficiency bonus as you level up in which your highest level major class will determine your proficiency bonus, for example: at level 1 for your highest level major class you will receive a +2 proficiency bonus that increases by +1 every 3 levels.   Each time your character does a level up you may increase a single attribute by 1 or increase your total hit points by 1.
