Traders barter their wares for coin and goods that the Provisioners normally cannot obtain in Mulgore. They may craft or collect their wares, but generally focus on using them to trade for other resources rather than using them directly. While Thunder Bluff provides a ready and busy location for trade opportunities, some traders may travel far and wide in search of deals and select products for the betterment of Stonewind.
The rank of Trader does not require a skills test to obtain. If your character has some skill in bartering, and wishes to put those skills towards the village, then they will be granted that role. A Trader may collect their wares personally to be sold for coin or bartered for goods, or may act as a middleman between buyer and seller. How successful they are as a merchant will depend on the character's experience and personality.
Most Tauren-based trade occurs on the Bluffs, although your character may travel elsewhere should they want to deal in the more exotic. If your character travels a lot for their trade, then you will need to be very, very clear about how often your character comes back to the village. Wandering characters have a tendency to become unfamiliar to the tribe over time. This can be avoided by simply making sure people know where your character is heading and how long they plan on being gone (and what they hope to bring back!).
*This role may have a LOT of overlap with the roles of
Provisioner and
Tracker. For instance, a hunter that tracks small game to feed the village, but then sells the pelts on the Bluffs, could be considers a Trader, Provisioner, or Tracker depending on how you look at it. In that case, the choice is yours of what title you'd like them to have. The title is mostly just to advertise to others what area your character likes to focus on.
