Shippadoos
The Shippadoos are the goofiest wannabe-pirates in the Starlands, a joke of a crew that bumbles its way into and out of trouble through sheer enthusiastic accident. Their incompetence is their saving grace, as were they an actual threat to the common peace, someone might have forcibly disbanded them by now. As it is, they are essentially the continent's oldest cosplay fraternity, motivated by a touch of contagious insanity to "pillage and plunder" the high seas with no ultimate goal but to simply be themselves.
These harmless fellows rarely commit any actual crimes, even when unintentionally bumping shoulders with other pirates in the midst of theirs. They stay afloat (literally) through dumb luck, one day randomly stumbling upon buried treasure or shipwrecks, and the next accidentally witnessing a politically embarrassing situation and making off with mountains of hush money.
Though they fancy themselves as a band of fearsome villains, the Shippadoos have never harmed anyone. Each member is convinced that everyone but themselves has a dark past, while, in truth, they share the mundane, innocent origins of any average civilian. The current Captain, Wobbles McSailington, helms their flagship, the S.S. Soggy Boot, with the confidence of a lion and the competence of a housecat... perhaps someday he will lead them to glory, but wherever their path leads, the Shippadoos are having fun along the way.
