Hinix
Basic Information
Anatomy
A standard hinix specimen, not accounting for disability or alteration, will be anthropoid and bipedal. They have one head with one round, flat ear on either side.
They have one arm on each side of a torso with a loosely cylindrical ribcage, each with hands that have four fingers and an opposable thumb. Their fingers each have three joints and end with a flat, keratin-based nail. They have two plantigrade legs, each with feet that have five toes. Many have short spinal protrusions thought to be the remnants of tails.
Genetics and Reproduction
Hinix reproduce sexually via approximately 220 days (10 universal months) of mammalian pregnancy. Their typical rate of reproduction is one baby per two universal years, with 10 months of gestational time and an advised 10 months of recovery. Multiples are possible with twins occuring at appox. one in every 345 births and larger groups of multiples becoming less likely with each individual.
Growth Rate & Stages
Hinix do not have distict life stages, but rather physically mature slowly over the course of 20 years. Their babies are small and frail, usually needing to be carried by a parent and attended to 22/7. After approx. two universal years, they reach the milestone of being able to walk and speak somewhat consistently on their own, though are generally not mentally developed enough to no longer rely on their parents. From there, self sufficiency is extremely varied and some will never be able to live without assistence from their communities.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Hinix omnivores, with the majority of their diet consisting of wild bugs, but they're also known to raise cheeri for meat.
Behaviour
Hinix are notorious for an extremely bizarre lack of caution or common sense for a species that occupy a middle place in the food web. It is unclear why, especially considering their intelligence.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Hinix utilize varied social structures depending on their subculture and size of their group. Humans evolved from herd animals and remained herd animals, requiring intense socialization with both other members of their species and other animals. A lack of this socialization brings extreme distress and a plethora of disorders.
Hinix, unlike their cousins, favor highly clustered and hierarchal structure.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Hinix are prey to many animals, such as duopluridons and even naga occasionally, but are particularly favored by Paradox Daino, the only deity who regularly claims hinix from the Hive. They're so favored as a delicacy that Paradox's children all have a notable need for hinix or human flesh.
Facial characteristics
Hinix have relatively flat faces with two forward facing eyes, distinct, movable eyebrows, a triangular, cartilage based nose, and proper lips and cheeks. Their jaws have 32 teeth, with 8 incisors, 4 canines, 8 premolars, and 12 molars.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Hinix are best suited to the cliffs of northwest Jakkavala. They're well adjusted to the cold and a diet primarily composed of bugs, but tend to suffer in dimensions with one or more suns.
Average Intelligence
Hinix have large brains like those of their ancestors, and their intelligence is highly varied. They display a questionable degree of interpersonal intelligence, though not necessarily kindness.
Civilization and Culture
History
Hinix were discovered as a species in 75856 of the Second Era. Their primary difference from their cousins is most summarized by their response to Purple Chroma, which they have little of, but can have innately.
Genetic Ancestor(s)
Scientific Name
Corpari Hexa
Lifespan
90 years
Conservation Status
Least Concern
Average Height
165-200cm
Average Weight
100-145kg
Average Physique
Hinix have a muscular structure which is easily varied to meet their needs. Generally however adamere are built well for endurence, as they're persuit predators. They display an improved climbing capacity over their ancestors as well as their cousin species.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
The majority of hinix have skin ranging from fairly dark brown to pale, pink skin which usually have blue-purple undertones. Notably the palms and underside of their feet will always lack melanin, but not necessarily other forms of pigmentation. Their hair is usually wavy or cury, and ranges from blonde to dark brown. Their eyes are often purple-blue to purple, making them the only descendents of adamere with Chroma influence.
