The Towering Titaness
Background:
Mariah Strong comes from a long line of legendary heroes. Her grandfather, Henry Strong, was part of a secret government Super Soldier Program during WWII, and his enhanced strength allowed him to become the original Towering Titan, a hero who protected Detroit with unmatched bravery. Mariah’s father, John Strong, inherited his father’s abilities and took up the mantle, continuing the legacy of heroism and becoming the next Towering Titan. Growing up, Mariah trained under her father, absorbing his lessons on power, strength, and responsibility, knowing one day, she would step into the role.
From an early age, Mariah faced scrutiny and criticism, not just for her powers, but for her size. As a tall, muscular woman, she dealt with insecurities and teasing from peers. However, her mother’s wisdom and guidance helped Mariah embrace her strength, size, and beauty, encouraging her to stand tall and proud. She trained harder than anyone, determined to live up to the Strong family legacy and protect the people of Detroit, just as her father and grandfather had before her.
Mariah began her superhero career as Giant Girl, the sidekick to her father, but after years of hard work and successfully passing her superhero registry exams, she officially inherited the title Towering Titaness, marking her as Detroit’s new protector. Now, as an independent hero, Mariah balances her desire to be her own woman while honoring her family’s name, all while navigating the challenges of being a public figure in a world that often sees her for her body before her heart.
Personality:
Mariah is compassionate, courageous, and determined. She is fiercely protective of her city and takes her role as Detroit’s protector very seriously. Her experience growing up as a “big girl” shaped her into a woman who is unapologetic about her size and strength. She has a deep sense of pride in her family legacy and carries the mantle of Towering Titaness with honor, while simultaneously making it her own.
Her upbringing taught her resilience, and she strives to be a role model for young girls, especially those who feel out of place because of their size or appearance. Mariah believes that strength comes from the heart and doesn’t let others define her worth. Despite the public pressure and occasional objectification, Mariah remains grounded, confident, and focused on her mission to protect Detroit.
When not patrolling the streets, Mariah values her time with friends and family who help her relax and remind her that she is more than just a superhero. She loves to dance, have fun, and enjoy life, showing that even heroes need moments of humanity.
