The Highwayman
Background
Jake Turner, known as The Highwayman, grew up in the harsh backwoods of British Columbia. Raised in a broken home and exposed to crime from a young age, Jake quickly learned to fend for himself, often through violence. He became enamored with the romanticized tales of highwaymen and outlaws, seeing them as symbols of freedom and power over the law. His fascination drove him to create his own code, where he could live by his own rules, taking what he wanted and punishing anyone who dared to stand in his way.
As a young man, Jake drifted between biker gangs, learning the ropes of crime, intimidation, and dominance. He eventually formed his own gang, The Marauders, a ruthless collective of like-minded outlaws who terrorize the highways and back roads of Canada’s west coast. Jake adopted the persona of The Highwayman, a modern version of the classic highway robber, complete with a black helmet that conceals his face, giving him an air of mystery and fear.
His gang roams from city to city, executing high-speed heists, robbing transport trucks, and extorting small towns. Vancouver serves as his primary base, where he and The Marauders control the underground markets and enforce their reign of terror on anyone who challenges them. With a custom-built motorcycle adorned with skulls and gang symbols, The Highwayman has become an infamous figure, notorious among both criminals and law enforcement.
Personality The Highwayman is ruthless, ambitious, and driven by a desire for freedom and control. He embodies a twisted version of the outlaw ethos, seeing himself as a modern-day vigilante who takes from the rich or weak to establish his own version of power. Jake despises authority and relishes in outwitting the police, viewing every heist as a game where he’s always one step ahead. Despite his violent tendencies, he has a strange code of loyalty among his gang members, rewarding those who prove their worth but ruthlessly punishing disloyalty or failure.
Jake’s persona as The Highwayman is cold and calculating, with an unsettling calmness even in the heat of battle. He views life as a high-stakes ride, where only the strong survive, and he fully intends to ride his path to the very end.
